What you pay vs what you save
A discount question is really two numbers: the saving (price × percent ÷ 100) and the final price (what’s left). Shops advertise the percent because it sounds bigger than the saving usually is — the calculator shows both so you can judge the deal on the actual money. Questions people ask
Is my file uploaded to a server?

How do I calculate a discount?
Multiply the price by the percentage and divide by 100 — that’s the saving. Subtract it from the price for what you pay. 30% off £60: save £18, pay £42.
How do stacked discounts work?
They multiply, not add: 20% off then 10% off is 28% off total, not 30%, because the second discount applies to the already-reduced price.
