The short version

Lokafile cannot collect your files, because they never reach us. Every tool on this site runs entirely inside your browser — conversions, calculations and generation happen on your device, and the results download directly from it. There is no upload endpoint. There are no accounts.

What we do not collect

We do not receive, store, or process the files you convert, the text you paste, the passwords you generate, or the dates and numbers you enter. None of it is transmitted to any server operated by us or anyone else.

What is technically processed

Like any website, our hosting provider receives standard web requests when pages load (your IP address and browser type in server logs, used for operating the service). The site stores a small preference in your browser’s local storage to remember which tools you’ve used recently — this stays on your device and can be cleared through your browser at any time.

The Lokafile browser extension

The Lokafile extension for Chrome follows the same rule as the website, enforced the same way. It requests no browser permissions and makes no network requests of any kind — it cannot read the pages you visit, your browsing history, or anything outside its own window. Images and PDFs you open in it are read from your disk, processed in memory on your device, and saved back to your downloads folder.

The extension remembers your tool settings — things like your compression quality, resize dimensions and PDF page size — by storing them in your browser’s local storage on your own device. These preferences are never transmitted anywhere and can be removed at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing its storage. The extension contains no analytics and no advertising. Following its footer link opens this website in a normal tab, where the terms below apply as usual.

Advertising

This site may display advertising served by third parties such as Google AdSense. Ad providers may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ads Settings. Ad providers never receive the contents of your files or inputs — those never leave your device.
